Une imprimante qui bloque le fax

ISSUE: cust changed printer, now Fax makes AppleWorks quit just after entering a fax number.
CONFIGURATION: 10.3.7, Epson Acculaser 1900, not listed as compatible on http://www.apple.com/macosx/upgrade/printers.html, but working, driver from Epson website installed.
RESPONSE TO APP: has
ISSUE PROBING AND TROUBLESHOOTING:
- trash /Library/com.apple.print.FaxPrefs.plist: same issue.
- same issue with AppleWorks and TextEdit;
- same issue in new user;
- working if new printer is not default selected;
- same thing in original account
RESOLUTION/TECH SOLUTION: cust has to NOT select the printer: the fax can be sent.
